NextGen Rotational Program- Field Management

We encourage recent and upcoming college graduates to join our NextGen Rotational Program as a full-time hire. Throughout this one-year program, learn three key areas of the business by rotating through our top field roles: Construction Manager, Purchasing Manager and Land Development Manager. At successful completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to transition into an available role with Lennar - location will be based on availability. We encourage all incoming Future Builders to understand Lennar and our field roles through exceptional mentorship and leadership efforts.



Responsibilities

Overview of Rotation Responsibilities:

Construction Manager

  • Schedule and supervise daily trade partner activities while ensuring compliance with City/County/State requirements and building codes.
  • Communicate construction progress/feedback and home completion date to the company through weekly reports.
  • Work closely with the sales, customer care, and management team to ensure open communication on all matters; produce quality work and provide proactive resolution of issues that may arise.
  • Maintain and organize construction files for use by management and other field Associates.

Purchasing Manager

  • Develop, maintain and use cost-effective models.
  • Ensure Lennar's trade partners are continuously improving in the areas of quality, cost, service and delivery performance.
  • Assist with implementing material sourcing strategies to optimize supply chain flow.
  • Review budgets for new communities and resolve issues before the community plan starts.

Land Development Manager

  • Oversee land development projects from permitting approvals from construction to community turnover.
  • Supervise and schedule subcontractors and consultants for day-to-day operations in the field.
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of new projects according to construction schedules, contract documents, land development budgets, environmental studies and reports.


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven math and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to effectively train others.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Understanding of business and management principles.
  • Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages.
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record and valid auto insurance coverage.
  • Must be able to read, understand and evaluate civil engineering / development plans.
  • Must possess professional attitude to represent the company in a positive manner.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs. Ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs, climb ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, walk on uneven ground, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, around hazardous chemicals, dust, and dirt.
