About this job

This Position will operate under the terms of the Final MOU between the Cocopah Indian Tribe and the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E). This termed position was created under an agreement between the Tribe and PG&E. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Cultural Resource Manager. The position will report to the Director of the Cultural Resource Department and as requested by the Cocopah Tribal Council and he/she will have no authority over PG&E operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Promote and preserve all aspects of the Cocopah Culture. Provide the Tribal community with project updates and issues related to the Chromium VI clean-up. Effectively communicate as required with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) officials, Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) officials, technical consultants, attorneys, Tribal Coalition, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and all of public and government officials. Establish and maintain effective work relationships, including, but not limited to the following: archaeologist, federal and state agencies, legislative officials, community officials and the public. Plan and coordinate the logistics for all meetings, conferences and seminars between the Tribe and other parties: including making travel arrangements, preparing agenda, taking detailed/accurate minutes and providing comprehensive reports, meeting notes and action item listings and deadlines. Review extensive and comprehensive work plans, reports; environmental and cultural as well as legal documentation. Work in coordination with Tribal technical consultant and other project team members to provide the necessary oral and written responses on behalf of the Tribe. Attend and document all Consultative & Tribal Work Group meetings. Provide administrative support including time reporting and accountability, follow-up on correspondence, process invoices and maintain official written project documentation and records. Create project activity reports which identify items accomplished, upcoming requirements and timelines. Participate in project field activities, which coincide with proposed work plans. Provide thorough assessment and make recommendations of field work activities as it relates to the preservation of culturally sensitive areas. Document projects status, key decisions, key issues, and resolution, priority changes and approvals. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Research, compose and edit various types of documents for discussion and review. Order supplies and maintain an inventory of required supplies for this project. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of water quality standards testing and evaluation. Knowledge of environmental protection regulations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, an inquisitive mind, and an ability to analyze and think creatively. This pertains to inter as well as intra Tribal communications through written and face to face channels. Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Ability to form cooperative relationships with federal, state and private industries. Strong planning, prioritization, analytical, presentation and project management skills (from conception to completion). Self motivated with critical attention to detail, reporting procedures and timelines/deadlines. Qualifications Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Must be willing to travel up to 50% when necessary. May be required to work weekends, holidays and as needed. Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the Cocopah Indian Tribe Insurance. Must be able to meet rental car requirements. Must pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening. Must be COVID-19 vaccinated or must obtain prior to the completion of the first 120-day training period.
