Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager - Lead and Acid Materials Location: Albion, IN (Relocation assistance will be provided if needed). Job Description: As an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager specializing in lead and acid materials, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our operations with regards to the handling, storage, and disposal of these substances. You will work across various industries, including manufacturing, construction, and battery production, to oversee and implement EHS protocols related to lead and acid materials. Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations set forth by government agencies such as the EPA and OSHA. Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards associated with lead and acid materials in the workplace. Safety Training and Education: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to educate employees on safe handling, storage, and disposal practices, including proper PPE usage and emergency response procedures. Environmental Monitoring: Implement monitoring programs to assess environmental impacts and ensure compliance with regulatory standards regarding lead and acid materials. Emergency Response Planning: Develop and implement emergency response plans to address incidents involving lead and acid materials, including spill containment and cleanup procedures. Waste Management: Manage the safe disposal of lead and acid materials, coordinating with waste disposal contractors and ensuring compliance with hazardous waste regulations. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EHS performance, conducting audits, analyzing data, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, preferably with a focus on lead and acid materials. Strong understanding of relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees. Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, developing emergency response plans, and managing waste disposal processes. Certification in EHS management (e.g., CSP, CHMM) is a plus.
