Store Clerk

Grocery Services, Inc. is a retail chain which is contracted by the Texas State Health Department specialized in Women, Infant and Children (WIC) food supplemental program. The company operates in the Greater Houston Area under Grocery Services, Inc., the Brownsville area and El Paso under Grocery Services South, LLC.

We are seeking a talented and motivated store clerk at our Katy location (Zip 77497).

Responsibilities:

• Orders merchandise from Grocery Services’ warehouse or other suppliers, based on merchandise on hand and customer requests.
• Manages inventory by checking product levels, examining expiration dates and rotating goods. May be required to conduct periodic physical inventories.
• Receive, open and unpack new merchandise. Stock shelves, racks, cases, and bins with new merchandise.
• Pleasantly assist customers with product selection at checkout counter, using cash register, and accepts cash, SNAP, and/or WIC cards as payment.
• Packs customer purchases with care in sacks or boxes.
• Routinely cleans counters, shelves, floor, and bathrooms on a daily basis.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor or other managers.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
