Information Technology Technician
Pay Rate: $45,000 to $50,000 plus DOE
Location: Elkin, NC
Hours: Day Shift
An Information Technology Technician plays a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to ensure the smooth operation of an organization's IT systems and infrastructure. This includes resolving hardware and software issues, installing and configuring computer systems and networks, and maintaining IT equipment. Also holds the responsibility for responding to user inquiries, troubleshooting problems, and implementing solutions to enhance overall efficiency and productivity within the organization
Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of the Director of IT, this position is responsible to implement, maintain, and support personnel (employees) needs from password reset to more complicated, detail IT and network issues.
• First point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over phone, email or text
• Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
• Daily monitor of network infrastructure, including, but not limited to Firewalls, Switches, Routers and monitoring systems
• Additional responsibilities consist of racking/cabling equipment and assisting other teams, including, but not limited to, Systems, Security in various states where sales employees are located.
• Installs, maintains, analyzes, fine tune, upgrades and decommission network devices
• Provide support for all Business activities within the organization using ticketing tools
• Ability to actively monitor health of systems using various tools
• Work with existing change management process to implement changes required in the network
• Engage and work with third party vendors where required
• Utilizes IT Service Management software to track incidents and problems, ensuring tickets are worked on and updated in a timely manner
• Use monitoring tools to ensure devices are monitored correctly, configurations are backed up and all new IP addressing is up-to-date within IP Address
• Research, analyze, and implement network solutions in a timely fashion with attention to detail
• Communicates unresolved issues to manager for escalation when necessary and any other issues as needed
• Provides excellent customer service and technical support to end-users as needed
• Perform after hour maintenance and troubleshooting based on business needs
• Performs all other related duties as assigned - quarterly Inventory of laptops, desktops updates
• Supports Print on Demand equipment in manufacturing environment
Skills Needed:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, computer science or related field
• Proven experience in troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues in a warehouse / manufacturing environment
• Experience with network infrastructure including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANS and VPNs
• Ability to support offsite locations in person within local company footprint
• Ability to work off shift hours to support company network when needed
