Summary Description
We are seeking a full-time, experienced Business Development Manager to join our high-performance team. This individual will play a critical role in driving growth and expanding market presence. This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the fuel, fuel services, and onsite field services sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, strategic planning, and relationship management, coupled with a deep understanding of the fuel and trade services industries and market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities & Duties


Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification: 

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential customers, market segments, and emerging trends within the fuel and trade services industries.
  • Analyze competitor activities and market conditions to identify opportunities for business growth and development. 

Business Strategy Development: 

  • Collaborate with senior management to define long-term business objectives and develop strategies to achieve them. 
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to penetrate new markets and expand the company’s presence in existing markets (e.g., owning our backyard).

Sales and Business Development: 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including fuel distributors, retailers, and industrial consumers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
  • Lead negotiations for major contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.  

Customer Relationship Management: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Working closely with the Director, Field Services & Innovation Engineering, develop customized solutions to meet the unique needs of customers and address their challenges effectively.  

Marketing and Promotion: 

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted marketing campaigns and promotional activities to support business development efforts.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and generate leads. 

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: 

  • Monitor sales performance against targets and KPIs, identifying areas for improvements and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, providing updates on business development activities, market trends, and sales performance. 


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; 
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or marketing roles within the fuel industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of fuel products, distribution channels, and market dynamics. Strong understanding of fuel products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to identify and pursue growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving business growth.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.

Preferred Qualifications  

  • A business degree or equivalent. MBA preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the fuel or energy industry.
