SUMMARY

Do you live in the digital world and thrive on making it beautiful and functional? Are you a behind-the-scenes wizard in making engaging social media content and email marketing campaigns? Do you want to serve farmers and ranchers, doing meaningful work that impacts their livelihood?

This position is responsible for design to help support Angus Media digital advertising and editorial efforts. The digital designer will contribute to both advertising and editorial teams through a variety of projects centered around design for email, social media and web.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Design work to include digital marketing campaigns, eblasts, social graphics and web pages.
  • Contribute new ideas for reaching customers on digital platforms.
  • Support editorial design teams in making stories come to life on their respective portions of the website.
  • Create content to help cattlemen reach their intended audiences with their messages, spreading word about their programs.
  • Work with Angus Media Marketing Team to execute social media and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Provide input for digital projects and additional promotional projects to support Angus Media’s mission.
  • Collaborate with the American Angus Association’s Communications and IS teams.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ability to work in Adobe programs to create beautiful, functional designs.
  • Experience in web design. (HTML experience a bonus, but not required.)
  • Sitecore Content Management, or other content management system, experience is a plus.
  • Must have experience in email campaign platforms like Active Campaigns.
  • Must have experience in contributing to multiple social media accounts.
  • Ability to edit and prepare photos for digital platforms.
  • Some ability to edit videos is a plus.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, working with team members to design and develop a successful web presence.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and execute multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn is a must.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, web design or web development degree and other applicable fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in web-based graphic design or web interface design (internships and freelance experience is pertinent).
  • An agricultural background or animal science focus is a plus but is not required.

TRAVEL

Travel of 10-15% is expected, as needed, for this position.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, consisting of normal business office equipment and activities. When traveling, the employee would visit various agricultural settings, which could include outside weather conditions. Direct exposure to livestock is required.
