Program Coordinator

Place of Peace

Full-Time

$38,000/Year

Schedule: Determined on a case by case basis; Weekday, evening and weekend coverage required

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Provide supervision to Monitors, reports progress and concerns to Community Aftercare Coordinator and addresses concerns expressed by families utilizing services at Place of Peace.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide crisis intervention for victims and children utilizing Place of Peace

2. Provide non-custodial parents with a positive environment to conduct scheduled visits.

3. Assist staff in the safe exchange of children from the custodial parent to the non-custodial parent for scheduled/court ordered overnight and weekend visits as well as safe return exchanges.

4. Establish a trusting relationship with participants and children.

5. Provide supervision of staff and families during the visits by being available during the visits.

6. Schedules orientations and visits and maintains contact and communication with families, referral sources and other social service professionals.

7. Collect and report written documentation of events occurring during the visit.

8. Enforce program rules and confidentiality.

9. Attend required trainings as well as agency and team meetings as requested.

10. Provide intervention suggestions to the families served in accordance with case plans to assist in the development of better parenting practices.

11. Assists in the preparation and submission of service reports per program and agency reporting requirements.

12. Participates in team planning, case reviews and program goal achievement when necessary.

13. Facilitate monthly staff meetings and trainings.

14. Assists in creating and maintaining a positive program image in the community.

15. Assists in evaluation and continual improvement of program services and activities.

16. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements and educational/certification/registry requirements.

17. Models awareness and behavior needed for growth and development.

18. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required and may be provided by Safer Futures

19. Completes Monthly statistical reports.

20. Fulfills other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. An understanding of the dynamics of family violence.

2. Understanding of confidentiality.

3. Ability to communicate well with collaborating agencies.

4. List the qualifications required for the position including experience and characteristics.

5. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.

6. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).


MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or degree seeking in Social Work, Psychology or related field.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: At least one year of experience in the field of domestic violence and family/crisis intervention.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit for lengthy periods of time, bend, easily get up and down off of the floor.
