First Home Care is seeking an experienced full time Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) Child Placing Specialist to join our Roanoke, VA team! 

What will you be doing?

  • Provide assessment of referrals and evaluate appropriateness for TFC services. 
  • Coordinate interviews with potential clients and matching process with TFC families.  
  • Review assessment and referral information to determine level of care for clients. 
  • Perform liaison functions with internal and external agencies to coordinate next level of care.

Qualifications:  

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in social work or a field related to social work including, but not limited to sociology, psychology, special education, or counseling, with minimum of 1 year of experience in providing casework services to children and families. 

Or 

  • Bachelor's degree in any field, with minimum of 2 years of experience in providing casework services to children and families. 
  • A valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation. 
  • Must be able to carry and answer a phone 24/7 to provide crisis intervention, evaluations, and assessments as needed. On-Call rotating schedule is required for this position.
