Senior Manager, LMS & Instructional Design

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Senior Manager, LMS and Instructional Design you will:

  • Build learning products that require advanced setup/deployment in the LMS, including conferences
  • Assist other members of the Education Department with building learning products in the LMS when needed
  • Perform review/quality assurance checks of selected learning products built by others to ensure that other members of the Education Department are building learning products correctly
  • Assist members when they encounter issues with the LMS that are not able to be resolved by first or second-tier support
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members to enable them to build learning products of basic or moderate complexity in the LMS themselves.
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members to enable them to understand the features offered by APhA’s LMS and how/when to utilize these features
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members as the LMS is updated, integrations with APhA’s other systems change, or new features are enabled
  • Perform instructional design for learning products that require more advanced instructional design techniques
  • On an ongoing basis, develop instructional design templates that can be used by other members of the Education Department when they are responsible for performing the instructional design for a learning product
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members on instructional design principles and best practices
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members on the use of APhA’s instructional design software and other resources
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members on the features and limitations of current instructional design software/resources to enable them to plan accordingly when designing new learning products

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

APhA may be the right fit for you if:

  • B.A. in instructional design/technology, multimedia design. In lieu of degree, other relevant field experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in e-learning development; instructional design; and video, animation, audio, and graphic production for web and mobile delivery
  • Experience with an Association Management System, preferably Personify
  • Experience with a content management system (CMS) for building web pages
  • Experience in Powerpoint, Articulate 360, Camtasia Studio, SCORM, HTML5, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of instructional design, development, and delivery methodologies
  • Experience with adult learning principles, preferably with prior experience in the area of health professional learning
  • A great design eye that pays close attention to layout and detail
  • Ability to QA and troubleshoot technical delivery issues across multiple platforms and devices
  • Aptitude to learn new authoring tools and techniques as needed
  • Successful project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects in a timely fashion, and adhere to deadlines and project plans effectively
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills


LOCATION: Washington, DC – Hybrid, two days a week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday)
