Summary: The Event Technology Sales Manager is responsible for selling all Event Technology related services and to ensure they are appropriately aligned to the event, providing a first-class experience for guests. The Event Technology Sales Manager will partner with the Sales and Conference team to design solutions that exceed the needs of guests. This role will require general audio-visual knowledge and event planning experience to effectively collaborate with guests and planners to execute successful events. This position reports to the Director of Event Technology.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sell and manage events, coordinating with guests to understand their Event Technology requirements and providing appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain a healthy and detailed pipeline to provide accurate forecasting and to allow for appropriate planning.
  • Communicate the requirements to the Event Technology staff regularly.
  • Work together with event technicians and other teams, to ensure seamless execution of Event Technology
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings as necessary to support the customer event experience.
  • Manage work requests and calendar of events to ensure that all needs are adequately addressed in a timely manner.
  • Respond to all inquiries for service needs in a timely manner, ensuring exceptional guest service, exceeding expectations.
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers.
  • Follow-up on all calls and emails in a timely manner.
  • Act as an extension of the operations team for problem and issue resolution.
  • Make immediate decisions to provide the guest with a solution without any downtime in meetings.
  • Assist in the development of the Event Technology
  • Recruit and manage a team of qualified Event Technology sales professionals.
  • Provide expertise and work with cutting-edge Event Technology conferencing equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology supporting meetings and events.
  • Provide training and associated materials to users relating to effective use of the Event technologies.
  • Monitor usage and capacity for the conference equipment infrastructure, in coordination with the IT department.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of related equipment inventory, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Identify continuous improvement processes for seamless guest service across lines of business.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve and enhance Event Technology conferencing services to internal and external guests.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (e.g., Audio-Visual, Technology, Multimedia, Communications) preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art Event Technology to support large scale events; such as understanding components and signal flow, knowledge of industry terminology and hotel systems, understanding of integrating house video and audio systems with additional technology as required by event.
  • Experience in selling high-value productions and working around venue limitations.
  • Ability to talk and walk through the coordination of large-scale productions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of audio-visual systems, including sound systems, projectors, lighting, and video equipment.
  • Proficiency in using Event Technology software and applications for presentations, recordings, and streaming.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with guests, employees, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment.
  • Guest focused mindset with a commitment to delivering first-class experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Professional image is required.

Work Conditions:

  • In person, onsite at the venue.
  • Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm. May be required to work irregular hours based on client requests.
  • Flexibility is required and work hours will be based on business needs, including nights and weekends.
  • Occasional outdoor site visits for events occurring outdoors.
  • Sales Manager must be available to support their customers during off-hours and weekends.
