Opportunity: 

Wakefield School, located in The Plains, Virginia, seeks a dynamic and innovative Middle and Upper School teacher who loves working with young people to serve as a member of its faculty beginning in August of 2024. This full-time position (which includes benefits) includes teaching high school and middle school classes in the Mathematics Department and STEM Electives, as well as advising 8-10 students. The ideal candidate would have independent school teaching experience, a degree in relevant fields of study including Mathematics or Computer Science, and be committed to ongoing professional development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Embrace and model a culture of innovation and progressive teaching methods in curriculum and instruction.

Authentically engage with students embracing the unique culture of Wakefield School.

Serve as an advisor and advocate for students including academic and personal growth needs of assigned advisees.

Serve as an engaged faculty member collaborating with others in setting the professional practices and curriculum for the school.
