Program Coordinator - Programs, Leagues, Teens

General Purpose: Plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises community programs for seniors, adults, and/or youth. Promotes interest, growth and generates public awareness of the department. This position requires a fair amount of flexibility, as it may include evening and weekend hours. This is a hands-on position, interacting daily with citizens, the business community, and the public.

Preferred Qualifications:

(A) Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in recreation or a closely related field.

(B) Two years of programming experience including community programming; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

(C) Considerable knowledge of community programs, services, planning and administration

(D) Knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive community program and services.

(E) Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in community programs and services.

(F) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the general public.

(G) Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and ability to plan and supervise the work of paid staff and volunteers.
