Our Catering Sales Manager develops existing business and solicits new catering activities for the hotel through sales marketing techniques. You will be responsible for soliciting, booking, planning, and coordinating meetings/functions while maximizing the banquet space to meet or exceed sales goals.


This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

  • Involved in community and/or government affairs to ensure effective marketing of the hotel
  • Demonstrate commitment to guest service by responding to guest needs
  • Solicit, negotiate, and book both new and repeat business
  • Understand why competitors are successful in each demand segment and directly market/sell against the competition
  • Know key accounts and actively "sells" through sales calls, property tours, strategic marketing, etc.
  • Prepare required reports for the management team
  • Visually inspect function rooms and equipment before functions for cleanliness, proper inventory, and set up
  • Communicate with the kitchen, service, beverage, and engineering staff to ensure timely execution of events and quality service
  • Supervise clean-up of function room and proper breakdown and storage of equipment
  • Maintain vendor and client information where necessary
  • Collaborate with Front Office Team to ensure the details of the group and special corporate directives are executive properly and you are striving to achieve the same goals

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience using Hotel Sales Force Automation (Delphi, Sales Force One, etc.) is a plus
  • Fully knowledgeable of hotel service, amenities, capacities, and operational systems and process in order to accurately respond to customer questions and requests for information
  • Thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the catering, food & beverage, and hospitality professions
  • Ability to drive outside sales calls Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and desire for achievement
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to work well in stressful situations
  • Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service
