Full Time roles are eligible for the above, plus:

Entry Ski Patrol – It’s not just a job, it’s a way of life.  Breckenridge Ski Patrol promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.  Responsible for all manner of guest service, upholding the Colorado Ski Safety Act and resort policies.  

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing first aid and basic life support
  • Transport and transfer of injured guests
  • All appropriate record keeping, written and digital
  • Inspection of medical and technical equipment
  • Slope safety
  • Trail setup, maintenance and tear down
  • Mountain Sweeps

As acquired training and qualifications permit:

  • Lift evacuation
  • Avalanche mitigation and explosives handling
  • Snowmobile driving

 

​​​​​​​Job requires individuals that can operate in a physically and mentally challenging high alpine environment.  All candidates must:

  • 21 years old before November 1, 2024
  • An EXPERT skier (sorry, snowboarders) able to ski all portions of the mountain including powder, moguls, trees, steeps, hardpack, sastrugi, coral reef, slush, rocks, skate the flats and any combination or variation of the conditions above.
  • Have a good standing relationship with their alarm clock
  • Able to work in a high alpine environment with poor weather conditions, low visibility and extreme cold for extended periods
  • Low standards in coffee, burritos and ice cream sandwiches
  • Able to pass a background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Available to work holidays and weekends
  • Work well in a team with the ability to follow and provide direction
  • Fluent in small talk and all aspects of the English language.  Able to politely answer nonsense questions.
  • Physically demanding position that will require hiking at 12,000 feet with a pack.  Shoveling, digging and clearing snow.  Climbing and descending ladders in ski boots.  Must have sight, speech and hearing abilities.  Manual dexterity sufficient to operate equipment.  Ability to carry awkward and sometimes heavy gear and equipment on skis and chairlifts.
  • Breckenridge Ski Patrol is a unionized patrol and represented by a collective bargaining unit.
  • Pass National Ski Patrol’s Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) course and new patroller orientation.  Course provided for all new patrollers, required for continued employment.
  • Available to work mid-October until April 30th, 2025 or longer.  Planned closing date for Breckenridge Ski Resort is May 27th, 2025

Preferred, not required:

  • Previous ski patrol or ski resort experience
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or higher
  • Able to pass a motor vehicles record check
  • Fluency in a language other than English
  • You look good in red and own at least 5 pairs of ski socks

 

RESUME AND REFERENCES REQUIRED

 

The expected pay range is $21.00 - $23.26. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
