Job Summary: In this role, you will perform floor touch up of offline robotic programs to facilitate test runs to validate programming for production. Collaborate with Robotic Programmer and operations personnel to improve, troubleshoot, and maintain the robotics programming and production system. Operate and train on the use of weld robots.

Essential Functions

  • Perform periodic system inspections and preventative maintenance, ensuring the automated equipment is in a ‘ready to run’ state. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning, lubricating, calibrating, and component validation.
  • Report irregular operating conditions immediately to individuals directly affected and operational leadership.
  • Assess situations of system stoppage to determine root cause to maintain continuous operation of the equipment.
  • With approval from authority, take corrective action for issues impacting production to return equipment to service using Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and manual intervention.
  • Touch up existing programs to improve consistency in manufacturing high quality products.
  • Keep accurate logs for detailed documentation of how robots are operating and performing. Look for trends and make recommendations when problem trends occur.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and operational personnel for accurate information regarding the operation of the robots.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve safety, cleanliness and organization, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Weld Engineering Technician diploma (or equivalent), or Robotic Apprenticeship, or demonstrated equivalent years of experience with Troubleshooting, Programming and Operations of Fanuc Robots.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems.
  • Knowledge of Gas Metal Aar Welding (GMAW) / MIG welding.
  • Commitment to uphold a safe working environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to gain maximum throughput from automated cells.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently of supervisor following procedures and manuals.
  • Willingness to work outside of typical office schedule.
  • Patience – ensure duties are carried out accurately, regardless of the amount of time the task will consume.
  • Extreme attention to detail – quality of input equates to quality of output.
  • Advocate for safety – following safety protocols to ensure no team members are injured while operating.
  • Perceptive – ability to quickly gather data and troubleshoot / problem
