Senior Accounting Analyst

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team. This role will report directly to the Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting and be based in Columbus. We are looking for a self-motivated, problem solver with a mind for continuous improvement and the ability to take a project and run with it. The ideal candidate will be eager to quickly make a contribution, and grow her/his career where there is big-company learning exposure in a home-town atmosphere.

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Director of Accounting & Financial Reporting with day-to-day, monthly, and year end operations

• Own several complex accounting transactions and processes

• Perform various accounts analysis to ensure ledger balances are accurate

• Prepare monthly reconciliations and post journal entries

• Assist in the month end and year end closing processes

• Support audit requirements for external audit review

• Reconcile sales and use tax, personal property tax and ensure compliance with all relevant jurisdictions

• Provide ad hoc analysis and analytics on the performance of the business

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

• 3-5 years of related experience in accounting operations or public accounting

• Solid accounting skills with a working knowledge of GAAP

• The ability to apply accounting theory to real-world practical situations

• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills

• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Outgoing, fun, positive interpersonal style

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• C.P.A. is a plus
