Rinker Design Associates, LLC, is a leading provider of professional civil engineering to the public and private sectors, is actively seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Utilities team of talented professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for working on various water, wastewater, and utility relocation projects that include planning, designing, engineering, and construction support, focusing on water/sewer extensions, utility relocations, and utility undergrounding projects. Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water distribution and sanitary sewer collection projects.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, studies, engineering reports, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
  • Use AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to prepare design drawings.
  • Perform hydraulic modeling of water and sanitary sewer systems.
  • Conduct utility relocation design and coordination services for transportation projects.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams on preliminary, intermediate, and final design plans.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with clients and project teams, including other disciplines (designers, surveyors, and other engineers).
  • Interact with other departments, clients, vendors, project managers, and engineers to ensure consistent and coordinated designs.

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field.
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Virginia P.E. or EIT registration is desirable.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Water/wastewater modeling and pump station design experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision.
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
