Job purpose

Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Manager, the Beverage Supervisor assists the beverage management team in the overall day to day operations that includes the casino floor, lounges, showroom, and pools during the assigned shift. Ensures guest satisfaction. Ensures that beverage service is efficient and to department standard. Maintains adequate inventory levels for the business volume.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
  • Schedules beverage department employees.
  • Monitors pouring techniques of bartenders and bar apprentices and addresses any variances.
  • Monitors beverage servers for friendly and efficient drink cycles.
  • Works with Security department to ensure escalated issues are handled professionally.
  • Places beverage orders.
  • Executes month-end inventory by physically counting all beverage products.
  • Administers progressive discipline and attendance points according to company policy.
  • Assists in maintaining standards of health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize and retain direct reports who consistently. perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports, and employees as appropriate.
  • Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Safeguard the confidential information of all employees, department, and company records.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming license.
  • Minimum 1-year previous Supervisory experience in a bar, lounge, or restaurant preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mixology, wines and all phases of beverage administration.
  • Previous experience in bar or restaurant operations with progressive supervisory experience.
  • Strong guest service, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Experience with effective decision-making, staff development, statistical reporting and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Present a professional appearance.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.
  • Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable experience.
  • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
