Commercial Real Estate Attorney:

Shulman Rogers is a full-service, 100+ attorney law firm with its principal office located in Potomac, Maryland and branch offices in Alexandria and Tysons Corner, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The firm supports national, regional and local clients and works collaboratively, across practice groups, to respond to all of their legal needs.

Shulman Rogers' Real Estate Department seeks a Commercial Real Estate Associate. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' experience as an attorney with transactional and commercial real estate experience, and general management of case files. This is an exciting and challenging position that will allow you to grow as a professional.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft leases, purchase and sale agreements, financing documents, letters of intent, deeds, etc. in connection with commercial real estate transactions.
  • Review due diligence materials (including leases and service contracts), monitor contingencies, review and prepare title objections, survey and environmental reviews, closing documents and wire transfers.
  • Conduct closings and complete post-closing documentation and administration.
  • Review and monitor agreements with developers, approval of conditions required prior to draw disbursement and developer payment.
  • Provide assistance to senior level attorneys, senior paralegals and staff members.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ year's job experience as an attorney with commercial and transactional real estate experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with various types of clients
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel. iManage a plus.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively and independently, and balance conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of professionalism and client orientation.
