GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

This position exists in Orenco's Production Control department to manage all stages of manufacturing, delivery, and shipment scheduling of Orenco products. Responsibilities include using production management software, setting sales order ship dates, controlling, reconciling, and updating finished goods inventory records for all Orenco departments and sites, and resolving product shortage situations. Peripheral duties include assisting with the management of BOM (Bill of Materials), and fielding questions about order lead times.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):

> Safety/Culture

  • Continuously maintains Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
  • Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.

> Inventory Control/Maintenance

  • Monitors reorder levels for all managed Orenco products, issues work orders in OPS (Operations Management) and communicates with department leads to ensure adequate inventory is available to fulfill customer demand.
  • Coordinates work orders between the Orenco's Sutherlin and Winchester/North Bank facilities to ensure materials are at the correct location by required times.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy by reconciling differences between the physical inventory counts and perpetual inventory numbers on a daily basis.
  • Reviews, closes, and posts inventory transactions from work orders and inventory variances.

> Production Scheduling (Planning)

  • Create and maintain optimal production schedules.
  • Use production personnel and resources in the most effective manner.
  • Providing quick responses to production issues.
  • Identify problems and help improve processes.
  • Use software to generate reports and schedules.
  • Ensure that company due dates are met.

> Internal Customer Service/Tech

  • Support management of BOM.

> Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, however this position may on occasion work outside business hours to support department and business needs. Occasional long hours may be required.

> Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.

> Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in management preferred.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • APICS (formerly known as American Production and Inventory Control Society) CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certification a plus
  • Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems a plus
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Knowledge of production processes and manufacturing methods is necessary.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Word.
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel: skills at this level include the ability to proficiently work with multi-sheet workbooks, basic formulas, and creating charts.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to use sound judgement and follow through in problem solving and decision making processes.
  • Must have satisfactory driving record, maintain valid driver's license, and current insurance on personal vehicle if used for business. Must meet company insurability requirements.

Indoor office environment with time spent on the manufacturing floor as required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, and occasional light lifting of under 20 lbs. Occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
