Industrial Engineering Intern (Southern Pines, NC)

We are accepting resumes for an Industrial Engineering internship at our Southern Pines, NC facility. The facility is a former factory that now functions as a returns center, a repair/refurbishment center, a parts distribution center and a customer contact center. We typically hire rising seniors to work full time during the summer. These summer internships have the possibility to continue into the school year part-time, if mutually agreeable. We look for candidates who have completed three years of an ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree program, preferably with a major in Industrial Engineering; however, we may consider other engineering majors who have relevant coursework and/or work experience.

Our Industrial Engineering intern will work with, and be mentored by, local management. This role can involve some of the following activities:

• Performing time-motion studies
• Optimizing production line and work cell balance for product refurbishment
• Facility and equipment maintenance and upgrade projects
• Support of quality control and quality assurance inspection and testing
• Support/guidance of the hourly workforce
• Preparing/automating reports and dashboards using tools such as Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
• Data analysis
• Written and oral presentations to corporate management
