We are excited to announce an opening for a Lead Therapist to spearhead our cutting-edge residential mental health care facilities located in Fairfax, Virginia. As a Lead Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our program while making a profound impact on individuals and their families.


The Lead Therapist shall oversee the care and treatment of all clients in AMFM Healthcare’s programs that have been designated to be under their scope of responsibility. The Lead Therapist will develop and implement programming that is therapeutically challenging and engaging for the clients while also meeting payor and regulatory requirements. You will provide clinical program coordination and oversight, scheduling, planning, and creating clinical materials for therapists and case managers. You will also oversee the budget, under the supervision of the clinical director, to ensure rich clinical experiences occur for all clients. The Lead Therapist will oversee the specialized clinical programs and supervise other clinicians.

Job Type: Full time, Salary, Exempt.

Compensation: $90,000-$110,000/annually.

Location: This position will be required to work in-person throughout our various residential facilities in Fairfax, Virginia.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday.


QUALIFICATIONS:

The Lead clinician will possess skills and knowledge of the operations of a multi-care level facility and multi-disciplinary clinical treatment team. The Lead clinician will be familiar with a variety of therapeutic modalities and have a thorough understanding of Evidence-Based Treatment practices. This individual will be familiar with best practices for relevant levels of care and environments. The Lead Clinician will possess managerial and supervisory skills and utilize these skills on a daily basis.


  1. Minimum Licensure/Education – Licensed clinician (LMFT, LCSW, LMSW, LPC, Psy. D) with experience in a mental health treatment environment.

  2. Preferred Licensure/Education – Master’s level Licensed Professional Clinician experienced with treatment of co-occurring disorders, insurance clinical and billing practices. Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance in Licensing and Certification with Department of Health Care Services and TJC accreditation standards.

  3. Minimum two years experience working in a relevant field.

  4. Experience in, and passion for teaching and guiding new clinicians

  5. Excellent conflict resolution, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, de-escalation, and staff training skills

  6. Technologically skilled with demonstrated proficiency in Electronic Health Records, GSuite, and collaborative documents

  7. Working clinical knowledge of managed care and commercial health insurance medical necessity criteria for admission, continued stay, and discharge

  8. Work in a faced-paced environment; make independent decisions, communicate effectively when dealing with clients, families, staff, and other stakeholders of AMFM Healthcare.

  9. Technologically skilled with demonstrated proficiency in Electronic Health Records, GSuite, and collaborative documents.

  10. Working clinical knowledge of managed care and commercial health insurance medical necessity criteria for admission, continued stay, and discharge.

  11. Work in a faced-paced environment; make independent decisions, communicate effectively when dealing with clients, families, staff, and other stakeholders of AMFM Healthcare.

  12. Refined and well-organized multi-tasking skills and in-depth problem-solving abilities.

  13. Current First Aid and CPR certification.

  14. Current T.B. Clearance.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Uphold and enforce the agency’s standards, policies and procedures, client rights, and professional code of ethics and conduct, and take on additional duties as needed.

  2. Collaboratively develop and oversee treatment experiences that meet the needs of clients struggling with mental health disorders.

  3. Support, through supervision, the Clinical Director with management of their clinical and managerial responsibilities.

  4. Develop and cultivate an environment based on person-centered philosophy and cultural sensitivity to client needs, and lead, direct, and motivate staff to successful completion of goals.

  5. Report routinely, to the Clinical Director on the status and progress of the program's clinical activities.

  6. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with subordinate staff, supervisors, utilization review, managed health care clinicians, medical and mental health professionals.

  7. Oversee and manage PT/FT staff who are responsible for specialized clinical and non-clinical programming.

  8. Manage special activities and clinical outings for clients and clinical staff.

  9. Assist in reviewing and managing the daily clinical calendar

  10. Managing family programming and community events.
