Position Overview:

The Barista is responsible for the overall operation of the coffee station including but not limited to, suggesting, making, and serving regular and specialty coffee drinks in accordance with established recipes and procedures. The Barista must be familiar with all food and beverage items available as well as prep techniques and quantities.

Essential Job Functions:

The Barista is the key to the success of the coffee station. The Barista must be knowledgeable in the terminology, ingredients, and production of regular and specialty coffee drinks as well as creating a friendly, inviting atmosphere by engaging guests in dialogue and making them feel welcome. The Barista is responsible for ensuring all pre-event tasks are completed that may include set up, prep, and that inventory is accounted for each day. The successful Barista will manage your assigned locations by communicating with various points of contact (i.e., Director of Operations, Warehouse, Asst. Concession Manager, and Supervisors) to ensure the satisfaction of all guests. The Barista is to address as needed guest complaints to ensure a satisfactory resolution for the guest. At the end of each shift the Barista is to make sure all the necessary paperwork is accurately completed and turned in for final accounting. The Barista is to follow the assigned closing duties to clean and prepare the location for the next day or future events.


Requirements

  • Must have a valid Food Handler Card on file with Vermilion Hospitality Group and in your possession for each event worked.
  • Must have a H.S Diploma/G.E.D. or currently enrolled in high school.
  • Must complete all pre-employment forms.
  • Successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced high stress environment.
  • Preferred 1.5 + years Barista experience in high volume restaurant environment or another park, zoo, stadium, or arena.

Other Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a group.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis and be on your feet for several hours.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations and around excessive noise.
