Surgical Scrub Technician (Part Time)

Job Description:

• Under the direct supervision of licensed nurses actively assists physician’s in preparation for performing surgical procedures.
• Performs first scrub role in the Operating Room.
• Stock department and Operating Room after procedures.

• Assist in the organization and daily function of the operating rooms in accordance with established Federal, State and accreditation standards, policies and procedures.
• Assists the nurses & surgeons delivering the highest standard of patient care available while being responsible for maintaining aseptic and sterile work fields.
• Knowledge of central sterile supply areas.
• Opens all sterile packs according to sterile technique and prepares instruments as needed.
• Helps prepare operating room by setting up surgical instruments; ensuring equipment works properly, labels sterile solutions.
• Oversees the intraocular lens implants through the bill and replace processes.
• Helps gather supplies and equipment in the room for each days case load.
• Ability to handle stress associated with prioritizing multiple tasks, above average organizational skills.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
