The Market Bar in Trinidad, Colorado has an opening for a Bartender.


Mission: To provide best-in-class service and assist in the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring that customers have a positive and enjoyable experience and that the Phil Long/Kip Hampden LLLP brand is upheld at all times.


General Job Description:


The Bar Tender provides assistance to the Bar Manager with everything from stocking supplies to mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages based on customer requests. Their duties include verifying the identification and age of customers, preparing and serving beverages, accepting payment from customers, cleaning glasses and bar utensils and balancing cash receipts to record sales.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Bar Operations

  • Ensure health, safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times
  • Work closely with the Bar Manager to ensure that the bar is running smoothly and that all customers are satisfied.

Bar Tender

  • Monitor stock levels and advise Bar Manager when necessary to ensure that the bar is fully stocked at all times
  • Keep up to date with new products, trends, and promotions
    • Diffuse tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed.
    • Report any and all incidents in writing to managment
    • Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner and report in writing to management
  • Responsible for proper cash handling procedures
  • Follow company policies regarding drink recipes, ingredients, and preparation methods
  • Make sure all proper policies, procedures and safety protocols are followed
  • Keep bar stocked at all times with liquor, syrups, juices, garnishes, cups, napkins and all other necessary bar items
  • Maintain a clean, clutter free and sanitary bar and customer area. Make sure you are cleaning upon customer exit.
  • Balance cash registers at the end of each shift and prepare bank deposits
  • Adhere to all local liquor laws and regulations
  • Continuily be looking for new and creative ways to increase bar sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well with a team
  • Have extensive knowledge of common drinks, prepare cocktails, pour beers and properly decant wines.
  • Knowledge of general bar equipment, beer taps, POS system, etc.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2+ years bar tending experience
  • Customer service experience

  • Employees must report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of drugs or alcohol. In addition, absolutely no drinking of alcoholic beverages or use of drugs is allowed while on the job.
  • Any employee caught stealing from the business, whether it be money, inventory or otherwise, will be subject to immediate termination. (This includes giving product away to friends, family members, or patrons - without reasonable cause to do so.)
  • Any employee handling/serving alcohol will need to be TIPS certified
  • You may be subject to a drug testing program.
