Job Description:

The Utility Crew is part of the Engineering Department and is the primary group responsible for cleaning and maintaining general areas of the plant. Many duties of the Utility Crew will vary greatly depending on plant needs; however, the following tasks are considered core parts of the job:

· Maintain an excellent level of cleanliness throughout all restrooms, breakrooms, meeting rooms, office areas, and other areas of the plant.

· Lead snow removal efforts using both motorized equipment and manual means.

· Perform upkeep of the plant grounds, including lawnmowing, weed trimming, spreading mulch, and other manual landscaping tasks.

· Work in production departments, including 12 hour and/or night shifts as needed to support production staffing requirements.

· Operate a variety of mobile equipment, including but not limited to; vacuum truck, sweeper trucks, fork trucks, and manlifts.

· Paint handrails, walls, equipment, floor striping, and miscellaneous items.

· Perform SAR inspections throughout plant.

· Assist Reliability Maintenance and perform other repair tasks as needed.

Candidates should understand that janitorial duties are a significant portion of this role and there are no set daily schedules.

Positions range from Utility Operator I through VI. Advanced positions require diverse mechanical skills as described in the Operator Rate Program. Starting pay rate will depend on relevant experience and skills. Contact Hiring Manager for additional details regarding Operator Rate Program.

 

Qualifications:

1. Able to work in a manufacturing setting in a safe manner and follow all plant safety rules and practices.

2. Willing and able to perform janitorial and other manual tasks throughout plant.

3. Self-starter who is able to complete a list of assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

4. Good time management skills and high standard of work.

5. Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and is motivated to work towards advancement.


Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
