This position assists with the Boys & Girls Club inclusive of: After School Programming, Rockin The Rez Summer Day Camp, Youth Council and other Youth programs activities and/or events.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED preferred. . A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth recreation, education or related field required. Current high school or college students without 2 years of experience with an interest in careers focused on childhood development will be considered. Must be willing to obtain Professional Rescuer First Aid and CPR certification, Lifeguard or Water Watcher certification, Food Handler’s certification, and be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.

  • Must have consistent work attendance record and be willing to work flexible hours including the weekends.

  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity.

ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Hearing: within normal limits with or without use of corrective hearing devices.
  • Vision: adequate to read 12-point type with or without use of corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to verbally interact with staff, clients and public.
  • Manual dexterity of hands/fingers for writing and data entry.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing >50% of the day.

  • Pushing up to 40 lbs.
  • Pulling up to 40 lbs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with organizing and implementing day-to-day program activities and events for all ages.
  • Assists with a variety of activities ranging from physical activities, arts and crafts, dance, music and sports that are culturally and age appropriate.
  • Responsible for monitoring and assuring the safety and welfare of the children, adhering to policy and regulations.
  • Directly supervises the children and reports all accidents, incidents, and disciplinary actions to the Boys & Girls Club Manager.
  • Demonstrates leadership encouraging youth to participate in a variety of Clubs.
  • Ensures Mentorship of all youth in the Boys & Girls Club, while in the community and/or on travel.
  • Ensures productive and effective communication between fellow staff and youth, adhering to company standards of customer service.
  • Works closely with the Boys & Girls Club Lead and the Boys & Girls Club Manager. Assists with programming, community awareness, and marketing and community relations.
  • Makes recommendations for equipment, supplies and maintenance needs of the program.
  • Completes administration tasks such as, but not limited to: maintaining records and reports, incident reports and facility usage in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Attends company staff meetings as required, serves on assigned committees and prepares input for reports as requested.
  • Follows procedures for scheduling. The employee communicates changes and fulfills responsibility in shift coverage.
  • Responsible for chaperoning Boys & Girls Club events and activities.
  • Responds in a timely manner to assignments and communicates with the Boys & Girls Club Manager when timelines cannot be met.
  • Works as a team member of the company.
  • Assists with fulfilling travel arrangements and logistics for all events and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
