Job Title: Rental Technician                                     

Department: Rental

Reports to: Equipment Manager

Summary

Under limited supervision, the Rental Technician performs routine repair and maintenance of rental equipment.

Essential Functions

  1. Perform rental check in/outs in a timely manner
  2. Work with service department to quote rental damage repairs in a timely manner.
  3. Organize equipment in yard and ensure each piece has a current check out completed.
  4. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to rental fleet.
  5. Assist customers with loading/unloading equipment.
  6. Change attachments on equipment as needed for rentals.
  7. Ensure all equipment and attachments are clearly marked with company ID numbers and CMI decals.
  8. Perform service calls on minor repairs (flat tires, blown hoses, etc.).
  9. Maintain steam cleaning bay and water recycling system.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  1. Within the past five years, at least two years of experience and training in equipment repair and maintenance.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
