Job Summary: Performs a variety of clerical support functions, uses independent judgment and initiative to perform administrative and advance clerical duties in support of an organizational unit or program area. May serve as primary contact and information source for assigned organizational unit, program.

  • Responsible for managing financial reports
  • Verify and Understand insurance payers
  • Document and submit authorizations daily
  • Verify and key approved authorizations provided by outside agencies
  • Monitors and Track completed authorizations for errors
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all staff via email and phone
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office
  • Initiate, compose and type memos, reports and other documents.
  • Maintain filing and recordkeeping system.
  • Data entry from forms, records and reports into computer for purposes such as maintaining data bases (eg. Database, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics).

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of State, local and federal guidelines in order to modify existing programs and the development of new programs in response to changes in the guidelines.
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures such as filing, typing, duplicating materials, answering telephones
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette.
  • Knowledge of operation of computers and other office machines; Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Carelogic
  • Maintain routine clerical records.
  • Ability to prepare all related reports.
  • Ability to use computers, telephones, facsimile machines, copiers and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others including co-workers, program clientele and the public.

Required Education & Experience:

Experience will billing/authorizations, data gathering, and work within electronic medical record systems. High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) year performing administrative/clerical duties

This job involves general office environment. Some minor travel may be required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer. Employee frequently uses fine hand/eye coordination, hearing and visual acuity. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant condition caused by noise, dust, etc. Employee must be able to travel between Gateway sites.
