Position Summary: As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the Sunshine Terrace, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents. Under the supervision of licensed nurses, CNAs assist with activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and contribute to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing, while promoting their dignity and independence.
- Help residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent pressure ulcers and maintain their comfort.
- Provide assistance with toileting and incontinence care, ensuring residents' cleanliness and dignity are preserved.
- Assist with feeding and hydration, adhering to prescribed diets and dietary restrictions.
- Perform routine vital signs monitoring and report any abnormalities or concerns to the nursing team promptly.
- Document care provided accurately and timely in residents' medical records.
- Respond promptly to residents' call lights and requests for assistance, demonstrating attentiveness and empathy.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to maintain compliance and uphold standards of care.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Utah or a willingness to complete Nursing Assistant Certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when necessary.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and principles of infection control.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
