Our Dietary Leads require a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), six (6) months to a one (1) year dietary experience in service and nutrition, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Incumbent should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong customer service skills, and knowledge on state and federal regulations.

This position is responsible for assisting the Dietary Supervisor in leading daily operation of the Health Center and Assisted Living Unit dietary services. Additional responsibilities include assigning job tasks, preparing meals and maintaining sanitation and safety.

Dietary Responsibilities

  1. Ensures day to day dietary requirements meet standards of Dining Services and other authorities.
  2. Leads the dietary team in assembling the tray line for service.
  3. Leads the dietary aides in tray line service, including checking the trays for accuracy using the meal tickets and reference materials provided by Dietary Manager.
  4. Stocks, cleans, and checks snack pantry; ensures all snacks are within expiration date and well organized, etc.
  5. Maintains sanitation in dining services departments; reports findings to Dietary Manager or Director of Dining Services as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Majority of time spent walking and carrying objects.

Considerable time spent bending, reaching, and lifting.

Must be knowledgeable of correct procedure for lifting and carrying tray of plates, glasses, and utensils, up to 40 pounds.
