POSITION DESCRIPTION

The position of Café Server needs to have well communication in a professional and friendly manner. Focus on customer satisfaction and practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling hot and cold beverages. Be efficient and organized. Build good relationships with guests and the MFAH team and members. Have full knowledge of the company brand and expectations.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes all opening, mid, and closing procedures; completes daily checklist and side-work assignments.
  • Ensure dining room is ready for service and keep all tables and counter cleaned at all times.
  • Ensure Toast (Register) is current with 86 menu items. Update Daily
  • Maintain all TO-GO items are fully stocked prior to service beginning
  • Check all chairs and stools before service and keep them clean at all times.
  • Ensure all Food Trays are cleaned and ready before service.
  • Ensure all silverware roll ups is done prior to service and keep proper stock available at all times.
  • All service stations MUST be ready with sugar bags, salt, pepper, water and straws.
  • Ensure all packaging supplies and utensils are fully stocked and ready for service.
  • Ensure point of sales system and process cash and or credit card transactions.  
  • Clean the equipment and your entire workstation at the end of your shift.
  • Have full knowledge of all food and beverage products served from your station, including ingredients, preparation and can accurately describe dishes to guest.
  • When closing ensure pastry display is wiped down and surfaces cleaned.
  • Beverage carts to be fully stocked prior to closing. Ensure to communicate to MOD of any orders needed.
  • Patio area to be checked of any plates and silverware including Sculpture Garden

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2-3 years experience working in similar role

High School Diploma, or equivalent level of education, preferred (Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure)

Food Handlers Safety Certificate Preferred

Ability to read, speak and interpret documents in clear English. 

Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the restaurant on a timely basis.

Must be able to multitask and manage in high volume, and high stress environments.

Must have manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and stretch. Can frequently lift up to 30 pounds, as well as work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).

Must be able to work a flexible schedule. (including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
