*THIS IS NOT A REMOTE ROLE. 1 DAY/WEEK IN-OFFICE.

 

Strongbridge is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Finance and Accounting to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with DCAA (Defense Contract Audit Agency) regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director of Finance and Accounting will facilitate all accounting processes, operations, and reporting.

 

Anticipated Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and present financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and DCAA regulations. Support external audits and coordinate with auditors during the audit process.
  2. Budgeting and Rates: Collaborate with project managers and business development teams to create project and corporate budgets. Monitor expenditures and analyze budget variances. Calculate and manage indirect rates (e.g., overhead, fringe, G&A) and assist in pricing proposals.
  3. Tax Planning and Reporting: Work closely with tax advisors to develop tax strategies and optimize tax planning. Support preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  4. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Responsible for all AP and AR processing (directly doing and overseeing), including invoice verification, payment processing, and collections. Ensure account and invoice reconciliations, and accuracy of all debits and credits. Monitor cash flow and manage vendor relationships. Oversee in-house payroll operations.
  5. Monthly Closing and Financial Analysis: Lead the monthly closing process, reconciling accounts and preparing financial reports. Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Prepare briefings for executive staff.
  6. Deltek CostPoint: Utilize CostPoint for project accounting, timekeeping, and financial reporting.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting or Finance for a federal Government contracting environment, at least at a Manager level; preferably with a small- to mid- size company.
  • Familiarity with various contract types (Cost Reimbursement, IDIQ, Competitive, CPFF, CPAF, Firm-Fixed Price).
  • Proficiency in Deltek CostPoint software.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting standards and FAR/DFARs.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.


Pay Range: $120,000 - $150,000

The posted pay range reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
