Job Description

This role is an essential part of the Women’s product team. You will have the opportunity to bring Vuori designs to life and further establish our thriving Women’s business. As the Designer, Fitness & Fitness Lounge Knit Bottoms, you will use your knowledge of design and performance product development to bring fresh ideas to market. At Vuori we are focused on being in great relationships, and collaboration is a key to success.  We are looking for a team-oriented and collaborative designer who can deliver quality crafted products that are a reflection of Vuori’s aesthetic and ethos. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Full ownership of category, manager has full confidence in Designer to bring an abundance of ideas to table that fit our identified Design filters 
• Research international competitive market for full awareness of category, look for potential new ideas, and learn comp businesses 
• Pulls conceptual imagery along with product specific tears pre-season 
• Ability to take tears/ new ideas and translate them into a new, brand-right way 
• Sketch etiquette (being able to clearly communicate idea through hand or cad sketches, using fit guide language and showing on body/croquis to show proportion) 
• Creator of ideas for business needs that maintain heritage Vuori aesthetic and move brand forward; this involves partnering closely with manager and Merchandising partner to learn history as well as current business 
• Knowledge of silhouettes, fit, fabrication, construction, different sewing/stitching techniques 
• Develops language around fabric: understanding of hand feel, performance properties, drape, and visual face, which will translate into sketching 
• Creates clean and clear Tech Packs with detailed technical sketches when needed 
• Attends fits in order to finesse product with efficiency and in a collaborative way 
• Helps to manage data integrity of Design documents including but not limited to Tech Packs, BOM Visuals, Merch Guides, and Mill Sheets 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.  
• 5+ years of experience in Influencer Marketing.  
• PLM experience preferred but not necessary 
• Strong written and verbal communication: understanding of what to say in specific conversations, with different audiences 
• Strong builder of relationships: this role requires close partnerships with Merchandising, Technical Design, Product Development, and Materials which will require high levels of collaboration and grace, and done in a way that is representative of the Designs teams values of creativity, kindness, curiosity first, and leading without ego 
• Ability to speak to styles with confidence and take feedback in a collaborative way 
• Presentation skills; will present work at CFT meetings and at larger milestone meetings 
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; agility and resilience will be key characteristics 
• May travel for research and/or development 
• May take on an Assistant, in which case Designer would work with manager to create growth plan to become a manager of others 
• May take on Innovation work w/n category 

*Must have Technical Knit Bottoms experience. Fitness Lounge experience preferred but not necessary*

Pay Range: $97,750 - $115,000
