Job Description

Summary

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Engineer Department by leading projects, utilizing CAD for designing and interpretation, and supervising specialists and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing CAD technical drawings and interpreting specifications to determine the electrical requirements of given construction and engineering plans. 
• Creating and maintaining electrical infrastructure drawings in AutoCAD, and developing procedures and schemes relating to electrical design, installation, and audit for studio, server room, and office locations. 
• Liaising with other engineers (both external and internal) to evaluate received proposals
• Developing recommendations and providing estimates for the development or improvement of new or existing electrical systems. 
• Supervises Junior Engineers, specialists, and sub-contractors working on the company's electrical installations. 
• Performing field visits and site surveys to verify that installations are built correctly. 
• Diagnosing problems and troubleshooting electrical equipment. 
• Performing quality assurance checks and providing maintenance support for major electrical components, including UPS systems and backup generators. 
• Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in electrical engineering and construction best practices. 
• Perform other duties if required

Qualifications

• A BS degree in Electrical Engineering with PE registration preferred or equivalent experience. 
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation for creating and interpreting electrical drawings. 
• 5+ years of experience in electrical building system design
• Experience with new construction and retrofitting existing office/server rooms
• Proven project leadership and the ability to manage self-directed work independently to complete complex work assignments. 
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organization skills. 
• Ability to collaborate and manage timeline expectations as part of a global project team. 
• The physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently (Medium Work - Level 3). 
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without restriction.
