Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Laundry Attendant for the Holiday Inn Express NE - Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC.

Job Purpose:

The laundry attendant's responsibilities include cleaning, treating, and folding linens and towels. You should also be able to keep a record of which items are damaged for management review.

To be successful as a laundry attendant, you should demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Top-notch candidates will excel in time management.

Laundry Attendant Responsibilities:

  • Sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens/towels.
  • Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
  • Keeping an updated inventory of laundry detergents and linens.
  • Tracking maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment.
  • Ensuring that the facility remains clean at all times.
  • Anticipating and responding to team members linen needs.
  • Stocking shelves in housekeeping closets on floors for housekeeping use throughout shift.
  • Pulling, washing and restocking pool towels.
  • Completing all laundry each day and prepped for next day.
  • Inventory of all linens at end of the month.

Laundry Attendant Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is required.**
  • Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Capacity to lift up to 20 pounds unaided.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Available to work including weekends and holidays.

Other:

  • Being passionate about people and service.
  • Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and employees.
  • Reading abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used.
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
