Salary: $20-$36 DOE
Precision Industrial Contractors has openings for Journeyman-level Iron Workers & Riggers.
PIC works locally, regionally, as well as throughout the United States.
Job Description:
Responsible for selecting equipment, figuring layout assembly welding, and instillation.
- Rigging Certifications are a +, but are not required.
- Our structural work spans across several industries
- Pulp & Paper
- Corrugators
- Packaging
- Food & Beverage
- Other
- Lay out position, align, and fit components together for installation
- Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment
- Hoist equipment and tools into location via riggings or crane
- Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels
- Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors
- Cut, bend, and weld iron/steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment
- Additional responsibilities not listed may be required
- Dismantling of structural, mechanical, and miscellaneous components
- Can TIG, MIG and STICK weld
- Knowledge of STICK weld types (7018, 6010, 308, 309)
- Select, assemble, erect, and disassemble cranes and components
- Can read rebar layout
- Rebar specification knowledge (heights off ground or from edges)
- Understands hot work procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work at extreme heights
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Hand Tools: Use wide range of hand tools including but not limited to, measuring tools, welding & torch cutting.
- Review & interpret engineering specifications, schematics, & blueprints to determine work procedures
- Hand Tools: Use wide range of hand tools including but not limited to, measuring tools, welding & torch cutting.
- Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation to get to and from jobsites.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work well with a team.
- OSHAand MSHA: Must have general knowledge of OSHA and MSHA standards
- Operating/Signaling Heavy Machinery:Must have general knowledge of operating/signaling heavy machinery such as: Man lift, Telehandler, & Crane.
- Excellent communication skills
Additional Qualifications, Education, & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Drivers License (Required)
- Willing to Travel
