General Summary: 

Use Revit software to provide support to Electrical Designers, Engineers, and Project Supervision by preparing 2-D and 3-D detail drawings along with 3-D models. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for construction. Make copies of drawings and maintain information regarding changes to database. Make simple decisions but refers most questions/problems to Electrical Designers, Engineers or Supervisor. Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with Engineering/Electrical terminology. Mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. Familiarity of Revit software.


Mandatory Hiring Requirements:

References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Experience or ability to become proficient in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks Manage.
  • Use computer assisted design/drafting software to develop project documentation as models and drawings.
  • Provide Electrical coordination and modeling activities in Autodesk based software environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Create and revise project drawings (prefab and construction).
  • Utilize knowledge of various construction and engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete model and drawings.
  • Create detailed multi-view drawings of assigned projects.
  • Create 3D modeling from 2D drawings.
  • Create 3D modeling from sketches and proposals.
  • Liaison with clients and other contractors regarding drawings and model.
  • Occasionally assist with presentations for visualization or animation activities.
  • Communicate with Fabrication, Design, Engineering and Construction supervision regarding new and revised prints.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as project scopes, product design details, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, project summaries and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization to present drawings or models with to internal management and external clients.


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts including fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Other Skills and Abilities:

Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to learn new graphic software to complement the presentation of new 3-D Model designs. Ability to work with tight deadlines, self-starter and able to work independently. Ability to work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision.  Must be flexible and provide attention to detail.

  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.
  • Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Able to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Tolerant to prolonged standing and movement on foot.
