The Amazon Investor Coalition is a non-profit start-up on a mission to increase and improve investments in forest-friendly economic development, and the rule of law, across the Amazon region of South America. The Coalition is an impact finance learning-and-collaboration platform that convenes investors and philanthropists, in partnership with communities, companies, governments, and civil society. Given the critical role of the Amazon ecosystem in mediating the global water and carbon cycles, the Amazon forest and its forest guardians need to be at the heart of the global economic agenda. By helping global markets properly value rainforests, soils, and biodiversity, the Amazon Investor Coalition aims to make forests worth more alive and standing than cut and burned. Responsibilities Analyzing the Coalition’s network of rainforest stakeholders and allies from around the world. Scheduling and convening events to to match philanthropists with NGOs, investors with entrepreneurs, and producers with buyers. Helping to design an educational program to guide Amazon rainforest investing and philanthropy. Building databases of Amazonian products. Conducting market surveys about awareness of Amazon rainforest products. Supporting the development of chapters of the Amazon Investor Coalition in key cities around the world. Editing videos. Managing social media. According to ability, translating between Spanish, Portuguese, and English. Qualifications Required skills include: Enthusiasm for nature and markets Proficiency in writing and communication Familiarity with Excel and Google Sheet applications Interest in sustainability an entrepreneurship Quick learner Nice to have skills, but not required: Fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese Experience with investing, philanthropy and/or corporate procurement Policy analysis Supply chain management Translating complex concepts into simple to understand language Editing film Interested applicant should send cover letters and resumes to info@amazoninvestor.org This position is available immediately. This position is half time is half time and in person. The office is in the 113th Street in Seattle, WA, near Lake City Way.
