Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist to join its team in Tustin!  In this role, you will be working in a STAT laboratory environment dedicated to providing patients with timely but quality results. You will work with your fellow clinical lab scientists along with laboratory technicians. This is a great opportunity to join a first-class laboratory! This position will provide testing in the following areas: chemistry, hematology, urine analysis, and coag.  Previous hematology experience is a must!

Location: 100 N Tustin Avenue, Tustin CA 92780

The schedule for this position will be 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Tests specimens according to established procedures. Reviews patient results and reports out to client
  • Provides technical oversight of laboratory personnel with constant and direct supervision of their test-assisting activities
  • If assay performs according to specifications, reports results via instrument interface or manual entry in the LIS
  • Follows standard operating procedures regarding acceptance and rejection of results including reviewing all quality control acceptability and reviewing all quality control acceptability and recording all remedial actions if runs are not acceptable
  • Alerts management to problems in quality control methods and procedures
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, documents PM appropriately, makes minor repairs and immediately contacts appropriate personnel for problems requiring more complex repairs
  • Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job related duties requested by department management
  • Documents all activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of LabCorp, CLIA, and other regulatory bodies
  • Develops an ever-increasing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory results

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field
  • Current CA CLS Generalist license required
  • 2 years experience working as a CLS or Medical Technologist required
  • Previous hematology and differentials experience required
  • Previous experience working in a hospital highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Capable of working without supervision.

Pay Range: $52-58/hr
