Coord-Referral/Authorization - Full-time / Part-time

EDUCATION

1. Education: High School Diploma or GED required.  AA Degree preferred.  
2. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ of healthcare insurance or related experience required. Relevant office/clerical experience required. Coding experience preferred.
3. Other: Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking abilities preferred.  Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

@R=at risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens

1. Ensures that referrals are processed and completed in a timely manner.
2. Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referral and authorizations.
3. Contact organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior authorization requirements are met.
4. Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographics and current insurance information.
5. Works independently and manages work time and resources effectively
6. Works effectively under pressure handling demands from multiple sources professionally and courteously.
7. Exemplifies a team concept.
8. Possesses good oral and written communication skills.

   NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

   @R=at risk for exposure to blood borne pathogens

   1. Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
   2. Attend meetings at required.
   3. Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.

    

   LOURDES HEALTH NETWORK REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

   1. Is responsible for becoming knowledgeable and compliant with Department, Hospital, Fire/Safety/ Disaster, Educational requirements and Personnel Policies.
   2. Follow the Corporate Compliance Program and maintains confidentiality standard.
   3. Demonstrates support and adherence to the Mission and Values Statement of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet as an agent of the Network.
   4. Participates and supports the Continuous Quality Improvement process and provides optimum customer service.
