Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician (located at the Bayer Crop Science Luling, Louisiana) provides technical, electrical, and instrumentation (E&I) support by troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on the process equipment and site infrastructure. The Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician demonstrates good troubleshooting, installation and repair skills on electrical and instrumentation equipment and provides broad interest in the progress of the company by handling engineering and special assignments that go beyond specific responsibilities.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Technician are: 

• Works out maintenance records and reports related issues;
• Complies with Health, Environment, and Safety policy and ensures that maintenance jobs are finished under safe conditions;
• Carries out patrols and reports any abnormal findings;
• Prepares maintenance activity reports and submits them to supervisor after finishing each activity;
• Uses and maintains all tools in a proper condition.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent;

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant electrical and/or instrumentation maintenance work experience and/or transferable military experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Basic knowledge of computers including Windows and Microsoft office;
• Ability to work as individual contributor on a diverse team;
• Ability to work 4/10 schedule and possibly 12 hour rotating shifts;
• Ability to work extended hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays;
• Capability to routinely lift and transport loads up to 50 lbs;
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical associate degree;
• Advanced Electrical or instrumentation training;
• Basic Knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E.
