Main responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned, per business needs):
- Safety: exhibit safe work habits when working in manufacturing or rail operating environments, following training. Develop expertise in safe packaging and material handling methods.
- Shipment Processing: Process all outgoing shipments in SAP. Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments. Process shipments in any required customer portal.
- Logistics: Contact logistics providers to ensure timely pickup of outbound material. Prepare outgoing shipments. Ensure that all shipments are appropriately labeled and packed.
- Reporting: Communicate in a respectful and timely way with external customers, internal customer service and freight carriers regarding shipment status.
- Quality: Maintain accurate records of shipments and ensure accuracy among actual material and SAP.
- Continuous Improvement: Maintain a clean and organized shipping area, consistent with plant-wide efforts in 5S. Assist in implementation of new processes and technology related to shipping. Participate in lean improvement activities as assigned (5S Blitz, Kaizen, etc).
