AMFM Healthcare is seeking an Experiential Group Facilitator as part of our curriculum of care for clients at our residential mental health treatment facilities around Fairfax County, VA. AMFM Healthcare is looking for those who can effectively teach a group of clients how to learn and maintain a more stable life while undergoing their mental health treatment program. We are looking for those who have experience leading groups such as music, fitness, yoga, art, holistic wellness, and mind and body.

Job Type: Full time.

Compensation: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour.

Location: Must be willing to travel between our facilities located around Fairfax County, Virginia.

Schedules needed: Monday-Friday (5 days x 8 hours) or Friday-Monday (4 days x 10 hours).

Experiential Group Facilitator Job Duties:

The Experiential Group Facilitator facilitates group therapy sessions utilizing evidenced based practices for our mental health and/or trauma specific program. Applicants MUST have experience working with acute clients that often have co-occurring mood disorders, substance use, and severe suicidal ideation.

  • Facilitates groups within area of specialty (Clinical or non-clinical, such as CBT, DBT, Art Therapy, Trauma Informed Yoga, Music Therapy).
  • Documentation must meet all requirements within policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to any and all Joint Commission and VA DSS standards.
  • Communicates directly with supervisory staff.
  • Is an effective team member as part of the overall program and clinical operations, and is able to communicate needs within and between departments effectively.
  • Utilizes treatment team and collaborative approach effectively.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions relevant to their field of expertise during group sessions effectively.
  • Maintain Electronic Health Records to reflect the course of treatment and provide required documentation as required by company policy, including completion of documentation within the agencies 24 hour standard submission time requirement.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervisory conferences, training, and other activities, which ensure effective and efficient functioning of clinical operations.
  • Adhere to organizational standards and policies and procedures, code of ethics, legal aspects of clinical practice, professional standards, duty to warn, abuse and neglect reporting policies and procedures and exercise professionalism at all times.


Education, Experience, License & Registration Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualifications – Holds accredited registration and/or certification within one or more of the recreational fields that are to be supervised (i.e music therapy, art therapy, movement therapy, nutrition, fitness, yoga, etc.) with a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred Qualifications – Bachelor's level degree in field pertaining to recreational area of choice. Experienced with treatment of co-occurring disorders, insurance, and billing practices. Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance in Licensing and Certification with the Department of Health.
  • Successful completion of Criminal Background Check through DBHDS, Background Investigation Unit, and VDSS Registry Searches, and ADP Selective Services Screening.
  • Flexibility in their work schedule to meet the needs of the programs.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work, including between work sites as required.
