Job Description
Position Summary:
The Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist is a health care professional that through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician and other licensed personnel, assists with the performance of procedures on patients resulting in an accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of vascular diseases while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort. The cardiovascular technologist will function as a team member of the Cardiovascular Catheterization Team during the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures, pacemaker insertion; and hemodynamic studies. As a member of the Cardiovascular Catheterization Team the technologist will be responsible for setting up sterile fields, stocking supplies, transporting patients, documenting procedures, and circulating procedures. The technologist will assist with the maintenance of equipment, inventory, and the readiness of the procedure rooms. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

- Ability to maintain attendance to meet standard job practices.
B. Education
- Graduate of a cardiovascular or radiologic technology program at an accreditated institution.
C. Licensure
- Certified in Cardiovascular Technology perferred, if not able to obtain RCIS within 2 years of hire date.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire date.
D. Experience
- Healthcare related work experience in cardiovascular procedures perferred.
