WHY THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY:

The Next Generation Pastor role is a great opportunity for anyone who is driven to build a ministry around reaching the next generation. This role entails planning and executing programs for ministries from birth to 12th grade and also includes serving on the teaching team. In order to do this, you will engage and connect with the community in Greenwood and embody the vision and mission of Community Bible Church. Specifically, you will focus on building leadership teams for Student and Kids ministry alongside a part-time kids staff member. You will also attend community events, and partner with the parents of Greenwood.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a vision and strategy for Community Student Ministry through programs, relationships, and community involvement.(7th-12th grade)
  • Implement the existing vision for Community Childrens ministry (birth-6th grade)
  • Multiply ministry by recruiting, onboarding, equipping, empowering, caring for, and releasing leaders. Though this is primarily relational, it also includes managing and maintaining the systems and programs that allow for this.
  • Participate in general pastoral work, including visitations, crisis counseling, weddings, funerals, outreach, sermons, and other work as needed.
  • Challenge, equip, and empower each student to lead and serve. Build student-led ministry teams where students will find and have ownership and belonging.
  • Prioritize and build relationships with students in the Greenwood area by attending local sporting events, school functions, performances, assemblies, etc.
  • Build relationships and school partnerships with Greenwood schools through service and prayer.
  • Involve kids and students in church ministries, supporting and participating in the churchs vision, worship services, and activities.
  • Plan, prepare, and execute 8-10 messages per year for adult worship gatherings.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A calling into full-time ministry.
  • Drive and determination to connect with students, kids, and parents.
  • A desire to be involved in the local community of Greenwood.
  • Bachelor's degree in Christian studies, Theology, Student/Children's ministry, or a like field.
  • Preferred 3-5 years experience in a full-time capacity in Student, Childrens, or Next Generation ministry.

  • Ministry metrics: This involves tracking various metrics related to the ministry, such as growth, attendance, new relationships, and baptisms. These metrics provide tangible evidence of the ministry's performance and effectiveness.

BENEFITS AND PAY:

  • This is a full-time position requiring a commitment of at least 40 hours per week, including Sundays.
  • Provided health insurance for our employees, with the premium dependent on the employee's age. Additionally, CBC contributes $2000 to their Health Savings Plan.
  • Employees receive paid vacation time. This benefit is dependent on their tenure, which is calculated from the date of their earliest full-time pastoral employment at any church where they served as a full-time pastoral minister.
  • As part of a remuneration package, CBC covers a $46 monthly cell phone plan and associated fees/taxes.
  • CBC is committed to employees' retirement planning and contributes 3% of their salary towards this.
  • Employees receive a $750 allowance for coaching through Lead222, to aid in their professional development.
  • CBC supports continued education and encourages employees to attend conferences to further their knowledge and skills.
