Job Description
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) (LVN)
SITE OF SERVICE:
- Medical Home Port at Naval Branch Health Clinic (NBHC) Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport, MS in support of Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL.
- Full Time Position
POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree: Certificate
- Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college,
university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and
accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was
completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
(NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). - Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience: Possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years as an LPN.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a LPN/LVN in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen
- English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
- Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.
HOURS:
- Shifts will generally be scheduled for a nine (9) hour period Monday through Friday including an uncompensated one (1) hour meal break between the hours of 0700 and 1800.
- Services will not normally be provided on the day of observance of Federal holidays.
- In no instance will a HCW be required to provide services (on-site service plus approved leave and holidays) in excess of 40 hours per week.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
