Assistant Professor of Kinesiology

LC State invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Kinesiology.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $50,000 - $60,000 (full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position)

Degree Required: Doctorate or a Terminal Degree from a regionally accredited college or university

Required Qualifications:

1. Deliver high-quality lecture and skills courses in kinesiology with an emphasis in health.
2. Ability to teach courses in a variety of modalities (face-to-face, online, virtual remote, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
2. Preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach fitness and kinesiology courses in addition to health.

Responsibilities:

The teaching load is 24 credit hours per year. Primary teaching responsibilities will be health classes including nutrition, wellness coaching, aging and physical activity, behavior change, and addiction and performance. The classes are taught through multiple modalities including face-to-face and online.

Additional duties include advising & mentoring students, engaging in scholarship/professional development, providing service to the division and the college, as well as direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
