Bethesda- Stars & MC Elite Lacrosse Coach

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The St. James is seeking a Lacrosse Coach for St. James MC Elite teams at its Bethesda, MD location. The ideal candidate is committed to empowering our female athletes to be the best they can be on and off the field. This candidate assists in cultivating a positive and competitive environment, while infuses the love of the sport and mission of continual improvement throughout the season.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coach and instruct athletes, both individually and in groups, using appropriate lacrosse developmental instruction
• Assist the Directors of Lacrosse and other coaches with organizing and supervising athletes in connection with practices, games, playdays, and showcases
• Mentor our athletes
• Lead or assist practices
• Attend games for the team(s) you work with
• Help maintain equipment and supplies
• Develop and sustain positive relationships with athletes, families and guests of The St. James
• Supporting the safety of all members, guests and employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two or more years of successful coaching experience with demonstrated leadership ability for coaches and at least one year of experience for assistant coaches.
• Collegiate playing experience is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• Great customer service and communication skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Background check
• Knowledgeable of safety training, procedures and best practices used throughout the sports and wellness industry.
